I seemingly can't win these days. Twenty-five days after the gas was shut off, it was turned back on... and this was after that 41-degree night.
But now... the furnace doesn't work! It's a more modern electric start (which saves on gas, haha), and it does try to ignite, but the gas doesn't whoosh in like it should. The stove works, the water heater works, and one thing I don't do is play with gas, so the shutoff shouldn't be turned off. This is NOT something I really want to tell the landlord for fear of retribution!
The funniest news? I don't think my roommate can tell electric start furnaces from any other furnace, since a bunch of struck matches were found next to the furnace. I also found struck matches near the water heater, one week before the gas was turned back on. Somehow, he knew the stove was electric start. Wait, maybe I should move it just to find out!
Not much else to report, basically because of distraction. Too many loud people around me at the store where I'm typing this, though I observed with interest a young boyfriend/girlfriend combo at the computer next to me. They were looking up football stats, with the GIRL doing all the commands as to what team & what players to look up! I know we're not supposed to stereotype about genders these days, but it's still strange for me to see for some reason.
